I just spent a frustrating evening trying to reinstall the sear spring on my Savage 110. No luck. Everytime I came close to getting everything lined up so I could insert the sear pin, something would slip and the spring would end up on the other side of the room. How do you compress the spring long enough to align the trigger assembly with the receiver and insert the pin?
Thanks,
jaj

I have no idea. Might try gunsmith forums? My best guess.

Slave pin---------
A pin that is longer than the original. Slave pins are made not bought measure the thickness of the original pin with dial calipers use wire/welding rod/drill rod that s the same thickness and be prepared to sand it down to fit. Once you get the parts back in driving in the original will drive out the slave pin.

After a little thought, I came up with a tool that makes sear spring replacement a 5-second job. I took a "stubbie" plain-blade screwdriver and ground off the tip until the tip of the blade was 3/16" wide. I then ground into the tip a radius which matched the radius of the sear spring. I seated the trigger assembly, inserted the sear spring until it just entered the slot where the sear spring located and dropped in the sear spring and it's spacer. Used the screwdriver to push the spring down into the slot and pushed the sear pin all the way in. So easy that it made me feel stupid for not figuring it out before.
