Am looking to purchase once/ twice used '06 brass. Don't care what caliber it is as I am planning to reload it for a friends garand. Would like to purchase in lots of at least 50 rounds due to shipping considerations. Please contact me at the below address. Thank you.

Have you reloaded ammo for Garands before? This may be redundant but Garands are VERY particular as to the ammo they will function safely with. It is wise to fire ONLY military grade manufactured ammo in these rifles. Sorry if this is something you are already aware of but more than a few have learned this point the hard way.

WRTN-

Thank you for the heads-up. Safety is one thing that does not just concern ourselves... especially given that I am loading for another person. I appreciate your comments.

I have been loading for this particular Garand for quite a while as it used to be mine. I have personally shot about 800 rounds through it using a load of 168gr Hornady BTSP and 45gr of IMR 4064. I am throwing them around 2550fps.

Once again, thank you for concerning yourself with my safety. After all, these are times when we need to ban together despite any potential differences and we need each one of us!!!

Please provide me with more information regarding the Garand brass issues. I haven't done reloading for the garand yet, but have the components, and it was the plan.

Is lake city brass ok? What brass is not ok and what precautions should I be aware of?

No need to freak anyone out if you just tell them the few guidelines that you need to follow for the Garand. You just to get the right combination of bullet weights and powder burning rates to duplicate the level of force applied to the gas piston.

First, they should be loaded with midrange bullets of 150-165 grains. Secondly, they should be loaded with midrange burning powders like IMR4895, never slow burning ones like 4831. And no maximum loads. Do this and you gas system will stay happy.

Personally my own Garand likes Remington's 150 grain spitzers over 48 grains of IMR 4320, which I have been using for a decade now.
