Has anyone reloaded .308 bullets for 7.62x39? I found some cheap tracer bullets, and want to try them out. They are .308 145gr. I know they are slightly smaller in diameter than proper bullets at .310. How much would that matter?

Do you plan on hitting anything? You must be getting your powder and primers free, me, I gotta pay for em so I try not to waste. Other than that they will probably make it out the end of the barrel, probably.

My 7.62X39 reloading dies had an optional .308 neck sizer so you could use more popular bullets.
I never used it but it must work somewhat.

Why would you waste .308 material on 7.62x39. Oops! Did I say that out loud? :-[

THE REASON FOR THE .308 SIZER IS BECAUSE RUGER MINI 30 IS JUST THAT.THE BARREL IS .308 NOT THE NOMINAL .311 OF THE SKS

Get a reloading manuel. You may get around 2000-2100 fps with them.

Well I only have 10 brass cases for 7.62x39. Loaded them up, and went to the range. Seemed to work well. I mainly just wanted to see what the tracers looked like. I did not do a profesional test, but it seemed to be accurate, or atleast I hit what I was shooting at. I never shoot at night, unless I am after a possum, or some other critter doing evil around my place. So it was different.
