Has anyone had the experience of their local gunshop being short of common powder like Red Dot, Unique,IMR4227, Hi-Skor 800, etc. How 'bout primers? My local shop says that they can't get them. Real shortage or supplier credit problems with the gunshop?

My local gunshop has been having trouble getting some brands and sizes of primers, they come out in batches, (might have to wait a week or two). But no powder shortages.

Seems like fewer and fewer shops are willing to jump through the hoops to carry bulk powder from what they did 10-15 years ago. I use IMR 3031 frequently and that I know of only 4 shops in the OKC metroplex carry it any more.

Ocasionally on primers and IMR 3031. I'm gonna start stocking up on IMR 3031 since I use it in several calibers. One of the local shops wont order powder until he gets low, which means he's usually out of the more popular powders.

Hello John
I just bought some power yesterday in Orange county, Ca. Picked up a couple of pounds of Blue Dot for 19$/lb. I peeked in to storage closet and saw Red Dot also, even 8lb kegs. Another guy came in right after me and wanted IMR4350, which the store was out of. The shelves were stocked though with lots of primers. I think if there are shortages, they are probably sporatic and local.
