We live in Fredericksburg, Tx and have had a flowerbed/garden for seven years with no problems. However, my wife planted some daffodil bulbs yesterday and when we got up this morning they were all lying in the garden--not eaten, just dug up. We also found some poop in the yard about the size a cat or small dog would make, but it wasn't from either one of those animals.

Anybody have any idea what would do this? We have coons, skunks, and possums around here, but I've got no idea what would dig up a bulb and not eat it.

Next Day:

Well, they didn't dig up the daffodils last night, but it/they did leave a fair-sized pile of poop, pretty soft, pretty dark, full of round seeds abut the size of a BB, maybe a little bigger.

Sounds like raccoon poops to me. I've seen plenty of it here and on my other property. They also like to make poops on top of rocks etc.

I'm with you goodaughter. Raccoons do like to be creative with their scat especially if they are around where cats live. I have witnessed coons leaving a pile where my cats like to lay down on the swinging patio chair more then once
