Today we found what appears to be a huuuuge bee. It was on a leaf of my hosta plant we captured it in a jar and researched it on the internet, the closest thing we found was a lunar hornet moth but I am still not sure if that is what it is. It is about an inch and a half long, has orange legs, black intennas, clear-brown wings, and a mostly black body with a few yellow stripes on its backside. It appears to have a stinger, a yellow mouth area, and orange eyes, it has two wings on each side, a large and a small , kind of like a butterfly wing looks. If anyone knows what this is help would be appreciated, we were in fear it was some deadly bee that escaped a bannana truck headed for walmart :) Also we live in Northern Ohio, I have never seen anything like this before, if you know what it is, is it native? Thanks!!

do you have a digital camera? you could send these guys a pic and/or the description you wrote here and see if they can help you.

http://www.whatsthatbug.com You might even find a pic of your bug on there somewhere... it's a really cool site.
