Simple question... At what age can you give chickens table scraps. I do understand not to give them meat, potato skins or slaty foods. What other rules should I be aware of?

Right now the 24 chicks are almost 2 weeks old.

I have to say they are so funny. When I go out to the coop they run from me. But when I clean the area and add fresh food and water they forget to be scared and have to come check everything out.

I have Barred Rocks, about 20. Once the birds are fully feathered and allowed free range I just throw the scraps out to the chickens and dogs.

mine chased bugs as soon as I let them free range (fully feathered). I GUESS THEY ATE THE FIRST ONE THEY FINALLY CAUGHT. :D :D

Mine are finally going out into the yard tomorrow. We bought the electric fencing. I am really nervous about getting them back in the coop tomorrow night.

I have been throwing them green veggies and clover that I pull out of the yard. Once they are in the fenced area I will start giving them real scraps.
