Ducks will build a nest out of straw and grass. when they leave their nest for food and water, they will look fairly stressed, running around with an open bill, and be very hectic. They may cover their eggs with grass when they leave the nest for a bit, I'd leave the nest alone completely. Make sure the ducks can have a bath because the eggs require higher humidity to develop and hatch than chicken eggs. A dishpan with water will do if you don't have a pond.

What Bushrat said. I had muscovies for a while--they would line a nest with down and when they went to eat and bathe they would cover the eggs with the nesting material. Might be gone half an hour but when I checked the nest the eggs were nice and toasty.
