This is the 3rd Deer Carcass I have seen this year. Its a small fawn that was attacked by coyotes. I know its just mother nature at work, but normally I see maybe one carcass a year. The snow has only been gone a few weeks and I have seen 3 already.
The game wardens have already said that deer permits are going to be reduced by 1/3 this year because of the heavy snow we had (200 inches) and the heavy toll coyote's did to the deer.
Last year coyote hunters took 25 of them off my land, while this winter they only took five. The snow was so deep they just could not run the dogs. Oh well, there are still plenty of deer left.
