Terri's Thread on the General board got me to thinkin about my father. He bought 15 acres out away from people to make a nice getaway and he ran into mice and chipmonks, squirrels. I hate how my Dad trys to get rid of rodents he usually goes straight to poisen I wont use it I dont agree with it but thats what he did and it didnt work for him very good so he set up a bunch of 5 galon buckets and drilled a hole big enough for a 2 inch pipe to stick through close to the top and made the outside of the pipe easy to gain entry by puting rocks or whatever to let the mice get in then he filled the bucket halfway full of water and just below and out of reach of the little mice noses he smeared peanutbutter the mice would try to get it fall in the water and drown. Every week he would empty and reset them. Every week he would have about 4 to 5 mice per bucket and he had about 8 buckets. Gross job by the way Ive done it a few times yuk. Well that still didnt get rid of enough mice to make him happy I kept telling him to get a couple cats. He wouldnt listen. Finally a cat showed up on its own and then another, before you know it hes not bothering with his buckets anymore. So I think cats are the best to handle rodents. Tell us your stories.
