I gave a new friend the URL for BWH but she has tried twice to join and even written the email as asked for. She has had no response so am wondering if her being on MSN has anything to do with it as she has had no response from admin to either mail? Thanks.
I see new folks almost daily but guess they have cable or whatever--right? Is that now the only way to get in and on?

As indicated on the page that displays when one clicks on "register," requests must come from the person's ISP-issued or other traceable email. Requests from web-based email are deleted.
Until recently, we permitted anonymous registration and learned the hard way that there are those anti-social, psychotic, or just plain nasty individuals who will abuse anything and anyone if given the chance.
For that reason, we no longer accept registrations from any service that permits anonymous email addresses.
While some places, like AOL and MSN do have pay services, they also permit anonymous registration. I know because I've obtained email addresses from them without revealing my true identity.
To my knowledge, every ISP will issue an email address with a paid account, though sometimes you need to ask them for it.
We are saddened that we've had to impose such tight security, but the other option was to eliminate the Forum and Chat Room.
It is unfortunate some innocent people may suffer for the sins of the guilty but what other choice do we have?

Thanks for the answer as this is what I felt the prob was. Oh well, she is my neighbor so she can get her canning and food stuff thru me and who knows--might even learn new stuff myself--ha.
