Have you ever grown barley or other grains?

This month's issue of BWH reminded me of barley and how muhc I love it and how seldom I eat it.

I want to grow some! Anyone ever done it on a small scale and care to share experiences? I live in zone 5.

I have not, but I lived next door to a farm that did. You basically go about it just like with wheat. there is also a winter barley that you plant in the fall.
