I have no idea to put this board lol, but I'm desperate lol!
I'm fat so that's not really a problem that my knee highs are too big or small. They fit great when I first put them on but as the day progresses they get looser and just slide toward my ankles.
Any ideas how to fix it?
Thanks!

I never wore knee highs but had the same problem with thigh highs. I scraped them and now use stockings with a garter. They make garters for knee highs as well. You can also try two sided medical tape on the inside of them as another option.
While not common today there are "garters" made just
to keep knee high's knee high!
Amazon sells them for men & women. Check under "garters".

The Marines would take elastic and clip one end to their socks wrap around the leg and clip the other end to their shirt tails. Socks stayed up and the shirt tails stayed tucked in.

I used to call my pantyhose "snowbirds" because they were always heading south. Knee highs would be better - at least they don't make you walk funny when they fall down! ;D
For sox that won't stay up - my guess is the elastic fibers aren't what they should be, or have worn out. I've purchased elastic thread. If you can find some, weave it in and out around the tops but don't pull it too tight or you'll have a worse problem than falling sox!

"Sock Garters". Men have been using them for years, especially before the invention of elastic waists.

Seems to me I've used something calling "blousing rubbers" throughout my military career to both keep my pant legs bloused and socks up. They are basically elastic bands covered with cotton and a medal hook on each end. Cost is about $1.

The answer is simple....Super Glue.

you cannot defeat gravity - as you walk and your ankles flex, gravity constantly tries to bring down the socks - the only solution is to walk a few steps suffering the effects of gravity and then lie on your back with legs straight up and work your ankles in this inverted position - this permits gravity to work to your advantage at least part of the time -
PLUS - it will be a great conversation starter at malls or at church -

I solved this problem by wearing men's over-the-calf socks in black or tan or white. They stay up great.

You can sew elastic thread into thick stockings, but thin ones will just tear. You can also buy high quality full stockings. They will fit you better than cheap ones, last and stay up.
I gave up stockings long ago and switched to socks and dared anyone at work to say anything about them. I pointed out it was sexist to ask women to wear stockings while allowing men to wear socks. Nothing was said. I love socks.

I use garters. *You can easily make them yourself with lace and ribbon filled with quarter inch elastic to fit. I prefer thigh highs, but you could probably use them with knee highs too. *I wear mine right above the knee because I always wear longer dresses and skirts.
Just cut lace to size plus about 6inches for a pretty gather, make a ribbon casing attached to the top of the lace, slide in elastic to size, then sew the whole thing up in a side seam. I've used them since I was a teen.
Right after "CHICAGO" came out, thigh stockings were popular. *WalMart was selling them out on clearance for a quarter a pair, so I bought the whole shopping cart full in various colors, patterns and even fish net. *I spent $43 on stockings that day. I still have stockings from that. I'm not really brave enough to use the fish nets with dresses, but they work under pants. I use a garter even if they have their own elastic.

While sightly painful until you get use to it, and only works well on dark colored ones, since you might get some red stains once and a while, I've always thought staples worked well. I probably wouldn't use the ones wood workers use with the air guns and all, but an office stapler works well and is usually available when needed ... ;D
