Has anyone ever used one of those knitting machines?
JoAnn Fabricis has one called the Ultimate Sweater Machine....
I'd like to be able to knit or crochet, but my hands are so bad that I can't even crochet one complete row.
Or how about those Nifty Knitting looms? Anyone use them?

Leera -
Check with Pine. I believe she uses a knitting machine.

I have both the Ultimate Sweater machine and the Knifty Knitter - I too have problems knitting and crocheting by hand anymore (nerve damage in hands) and I have found that these allow me to get my creative fix. I find with the Knifty Knitter that bulkier yarn works better - either that or use 2 strands of a worsted weight. They are also great for using fancy yarns like eyelash.
for the USM, I found that the edges tend to curl in quite a bit - not a problem if you are making a sweater but a problem when making a blanket. You can do a certain amount of fancy stitches with it as well, including lacey styles and cables. Although it's technically a "bulky" knit machine, I've used yarn as fine as sock yarn and had it come out beautifully.
if you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly.

Thanks for your help! I think I will be putting the USM on my wish list for Christmas!

Well,I didn't get one for Christmas........ :(
But I did go out and buy myself a set of the Knifty Knitter long looms.I love them!
In less than 3 hours I've done one panel of a baby blanket(making it in 3 panels)
A coworker bought a set of the round looms, and she made a hat and matching scarf in less than 2 hours.
These are so easy to use, that my bad hand/wrist are not bothering me at all.
I wish now,that I had gotten these a long time ago. :D
