I love free patterns. :D

I also saw this as a free pattern at Hobby Lobby in the yarn department.

I've been working on this wrap for a few days and should have it done today. It's been a nice project. It would be a great project for someone who is beginning to knit to learn how to do a simple cable.

Ignore the need for the 20" circular needles - they are nearly impossible to find. A little longer or smaller circular needles work just fine, as well as straight needles.

I'm going to use the wrap when I sit at the computer or when watching TV because I keep the house really cool in the winter. I'm making the next one for my daughter for Christmas. Luckily I have a nice stash of yarn from working several years at a couple different yarn shops.

Karen, the sausalito wrap looks beautiful. I like the fact that it has a button. Usually, these kinds of wraps just fall off, so that would make it easier to wear. I'm currently knitting a cardigan sweater, and just knitting the sleeves seems to take forever. A wrap like yours would be very practical, and no sleeves. ;D

When I first started to knit a few years ago, I ordered a set of needles & cables from www.knitpicks.com and I love them. I always have the size needle that I need and usually the cable length needed as well. Since I am arthritic-inclined, these cables and attached needles are easier on my wrists.
From their site, I ordered my sweater yarn, too, which was very reasonable in price.

I am currently working on a blanket to have as an extra when we have evacuees next year. I have lots of leftover yarn from projects so it's a multicolored blanket. I'm working it in single crochet and it is 6 feet by 6 feet. Between school and studying, I can usually get in about 6 inch strip a week. Like I said, it will be ready for NEXT year's hurricane season!

Lion Brand Yarn has a free pattern for what it calls a prayer shawl. I make these as gifts for my mom and my girls. It's a 3 skein of yarn project and is an easy totable project.
