Wife & I are building a garden, mostly raised beds, pretty modest I guess but more than most urbanites.
Not really shooting for self-sufficiency, just good food and educating the kids.
I'd like to keep a patch about 10x10 for cereal - spring barley and triticale I'm thinking, but open to suggestion if anyone knows anything about grains in northern CO.
From what I gather, barley farmers in NE CO get about 90 bushels per acre, which ought to give me at least 10# in my little plot, enough for a batch autumn beer.
I may have found a line on a few pounds of malting barley (and maybe not) but haven't found much out there for small quantities of seed for cereals.
Any help appreciated.

Have you seen Joe and Dennis Fisher's book "The Homebrewer's Garden: How to Easily Grow, Prepare, and Use Your Own Hops, Malts, Brewing Herbs.?"
It's a very good book.
