My sister found this at an auction and took it home for me - and she even gave me the lovely little box of attachments that was her own prize from another sale - what a gal! She and her husband brought them to me a few weeks ago, but I just now got the camera uploaded! They really knew how to make a lovely machine 75 years or so ago!

Oh, wow! That's just beautiful.
My grandmother had a similar machine from 1941 that she recently gave to my aunt...she was pretty upset to discover that after using it once my aunt shoved it into a back corner of the basement to collect dust. Now my grandmother wishes she had given it to me instead. I am kind of hoping that maybe she will be able to get it back for me if my aunt really doesn't want it--I would love to get my hands on an old machine. They just don't make them like that anymore!

I just brought one of those home from my grandma's too. It was my great-grandma's and it is in excellant condition. My grandma tells me that gr.grandma sewed all my moms and aunties clothes on it and my grandma's square-dancing dresses way back. I am so excited to have something so beautiful.
I want to clean it up and re-do the foot-pedal to up-to-date standards and give it a shot. Oh it's so exciting!
