I am a real Eliot Coleman fan. I have both his New Organic Grower, and The Four Season Harvest. Both have been wonderfull and very educational books.

I've read his 4 season harvest. It is a good book. For those just getting started a highly recommend Crow Miller's "let's get growing". Great book and once you understand his principles gardening really gets fun and productive!! :D

The Crow Miller book "Let's get Growing" is pretty good..he's a cool guy and knows his stuff.....his other book..."Organic Gardening"...co-written with his wife is essentialy the same book and WAY overpriced....don't waist your money on that....

I agree with Humbug...the Eliot Coleman books are about the best bet....

The New Organic Grower'
Four Season Harvest
and Winter Harvest Manual.

Excellent stuff!

Thanks! I'll have to check out those other two books then. I bought my "Let's get growing" online for less than $3.00 (may-be one reason I like it so much, lol!) I'll have to check ebay and amazon to see if I can find those other two books.

I've read almost everything our library has on gardening but I'm not impressed with most of them. I'm always looking for good reads on gardening/homesteading if you have another recommendation I'll sure check it out.

Check out "How to Grow More Vegetables" by John Jevons and check out his site for Bountiful Gardens.
