Thought I would let you guys know about this it is in Ozark Mts. Arkansas see if I can post it.
Spring is getting closer!!!
It is still a little cold, but the days are getting longer and warmer. The University of Arkansas Extension Service and your Stone County Master Gardener Organization would like to invite you to a gardening seminar. This seminar is free to the public, and we hope you will bring your family and friends with you. The basis of the information will be aimed at sustainable/ organic methods. Any of these methods will blend well with standard conventional methods of gardening. The following dates, times, and subjects are listed below:
Sustainable Vegetable Gardening
8:00-9:00amHeirloom & Traditional seeds/varieties, plants, and herbs.
9:00-10:00amSeed starting, starter mediums, seedling care, & time tables.
10:00-11:00amSoil testing, soil preparation, soil maintenance, compost,
and mulch.
11:00-11:30amRecord keeping, sustainable/organic standards.
11:30-12:00pm Tools and materials to help with gardening.
1:00-3:30pmSustainable/organic agriculture, some tips on perma culture.
3:30-4:30pm Water conservation, natural bug control.
4:30-5:00pmMiscellaneous & Questions, open forum.
(Times are approximate)
Plenty of information for the “new” or “old” gardener in
the house.
Date March 5th, 2008 8 am – 5 pm Mt. View Ark.
Please register early as we expect class to fill. If you decide not to come after registering-please contact us so we can use the “slot”.

Seminar to be held at the Stone County Fairgrounds, next to City Park.
Might want to bring cushions/chairs can be hard. Accommodations list available.
Refreshments will be provided…..The “munchies” alone are worth the trip!
Lunch 12 pm – 1 pm (on your own for this one). Plenty of breaks during day.

If interested in seed starting we will have some Heirloom & Traditional seeds available to try for free. Bring 4-8 peat pots and soil, or peat pellets and we will help you get these started.
