It has been quite awhile (since before my move about 18 months ago) since I have done any knitting. I've been so busy with projects, and getting a new homestead set up and running, that I've had little time or energy left over to devote to crafts. And I was beginning to go through severe withdrawal!!!!!!!
So, I have started on a project of knitting pillow covers for our couch pillows. The pillows are fairly standard 17 inch square pillows, and the old covers are in a sad state.
The covers I am knitting are in a basket weave pattern. The yarn I am using is a heathered blue color, in a cotton / acrylic blend. I will finish them in an envelope style so that the covers may be easily washed. Since we have indoor dogs, that is an important feature! ;D

That goes for me as well. ;)
I love knitting and it is a great relaxer, I kind of forget about it during the summer with so many other thing's that need to get done.
I am however knitting Christmas present's and I got a head start back in January.

It will be awhile until I have them done. No time for marathon knitting sessions right now. But I am setting aside about 20 minutes per day to relax and knit. I decided that I NEED that bit of quiet time each day!

I know what you mean!
To me, there is nothing like sitting in my favorite chair with my feet propped up and a cup of coffee relaxing while I am knitting. Especially when it is cold or rainy out.
When the weather is bad, I don't feel so bad about taking time out to knit. ;)

Ah, I know. There are few pleasures greater than sitting in my favorite chair and knitting the day away when we're snowed in in winter. A hot drink to sip, the curtains open so I can look up and gaze out on the thick white snow, and a project to keep my hands occupied. Few things can be more relaxing.
:D

I try to do a bit of knitting every day. Right now I have two socks(different pairs), a sweater for me, and a baby sweater(that needs to be done and in the mail soon) on the needles. It is such a great relaxer(well *the lozenge pattern socks for Mr. 8kids done in black yarn, not so much :o).
