Companion plant for rhubarb?

My mom just planted some small rhubarb plants. We know they'll get larger, but in the meantime, does anyone know of a companion plant we could put with it?

I just transplanted some rhubarb into my new garden. gave it an extra dose of horsemanure, rhubarb is a heavy feeder. as for companion plants, well , mine will be surprised, I just noticed a volunteer horseradish is coming up next to one. I just give it lots of elbow room otherwise. Hmm, funny, in the bed next to the rhubarb I have planted cabbage, pure coincidence. Of course only this year. My rhubarb is trying to send up seedstalk already. drats, I must have transplanted it in the flowergirl.
