What are you planting right now?
I planted nine head lettuce plants and nine broculi about two weeks ago and this morning will be planting two kinds of cabbage, Romain lettuce, and some onions, saving about three of each plant for my son to take home and plant in he and his wife's new garden...
we are in mid-central Alabama...
I also plan to plant tomato seeds in one of those plastic trays with a plastic top on it and leave it in the sunny window of my home office this week....I have my herbs that I've over-wintered on shelves I made from scrap boards last fall.

:) :) :)
I may be hasty, but the weather has been so nice, though still frost at night here in Ky. I planted lettuce mix and big and little radishes, plus spinach, all under a floating row cover. hope it does really well. I am so exited. In the green house I started some flowers, also broccoli and cauliflower and some cabbage. since the voles have established their headquarters in my greenhouse, (ate all the endive that was doing so well and that I had under an extra sheet of bubblewrap9 I filled big pots that big nursery plants came in and planted lettuce and radishes in them, too. now lets see how the voles bump their heads on the plastic. I hope they move out. :) :)
Here in PA the ground is frozen solid, low tonight is forecasted at 6 F, guess we need a few weeks yet. Last week it was warm so I hoped I could work the ground up some to get ready but it was frozen after the first inch or so. I hope to start some plants inside this week not sure what I will plant just yet.

Got my peas in, and some white onions. Still too wet from last heavy rain to turn over much, but I do a little as I can. Toms and pepps inside are looking good. Ordered more seeds yesterday, like I need more seeds.... ;D
I did get the onions, lettuce and cabbage planted yesterday to go with the lettuce and broculi already in the ground....now I'm going to plant the tomato seeds in the tiny covered "greenhouse" to go in my home office window!...

RICE! ;D
I got a fistfull of rice in the hull from the feed store, and I am putting 5 seeds in every ice cream tub. I am starting them inside.
Once it is warm enough, I will cut the bottoms off of the tubs and set them FIRMLY onto the soft soil of the garden. Then, I will generously water them from the top, filling the ice cream tub when I do!

Add in pots of greens and some sweet peas!
I just go a little nuts when the temps FINALLY reach 60!
I brought in my pots of tomatos last night: the weather man said frost, and he was right!

Chinese Chestnuts, honey locusts, and mequite. I want to reforest parts of my land and am focusing on permaculture as a route to self-suficency. The chestnuts are going into the orchard and will be tended trees, but the locusts and mesquite will go to treeless patches scattered here and there and will someday become part of the canopy.
Next month I'll be planting regular fruit and nut trees. I have peaches, apples, pears, cherries, plums, almonds, walnuts, pecans, and pistachios waiting to go in the ground.

Another PAer here, like Jott (where are you located?).
I'm in NW PA, and the ground isn't frozen but we have LOTS of mud right now. Still too cold to plant anything; probably won't for another 2 weeks or so.
I just love hearing that others are planting things already..........O.K. - I don't really love it. Kinda makes me wonder why I'm still looking at snow!

In Brandon, Mississippi we have had nights down in the low 40s, so I have done nothing but ready the "beds" and plant indoors. So far I've got kohlrabi, yellow squash, tomatoes, fennel, leeks, green onions, parsley, basil and rosemary and brussel sprouts. The kohlrabi was first at the start, but the basil is careening ahead as is the yellow squash. No word yet on anything else, but it's too soon yet. Infused a gallon of olive oil with mint leaves and yesterday my mom and I made one big batch of liquid soap with a wonderful minty aroma. The whole house smells of mint when I wash dishes or clothes. I wish that we could grow lemons here because lemon infused olive oil soap would be heavenly!

I have bell, fish, jalapeno and serrano peppers, tomatoes, yellow squash and zucchini in the raised boxes and okra, cukes, cilantro, watermelon, snap beans and corn in the ground and up! I just planted a new day avocado. The citrus and avocado trees have been blooming for a couple of weeks now and it smells great. New leaves are showing on the mango trees. A good time of year.
