That's pretty cool.
There are a few places here in the US where they have started community gardens in the cites.......I think it's something that we are going to see more and more.

I hope so!!! Some schools in Texas Cities are using the gardens for at-risk students. We did a project here last year on a very small scale and it failed due to the heat. ::) :o ::) Michael

When my wife and I started dating, we had two 30 x 40 urban gardens. You can rent each plot for $30 per year. They have spigots all around the gardens. There are probably 3 acres devoted to these garden plots. After that first year, we cut down to one plot, and it was plenty. We grew corn, tomatoes, squash, beans pumpkins, lettuce, onions, peppers. Thing I didn't like, was some folks would spray nasty chemicals or put wet mulch down on windy days and the stink would really get to me.
