I guess we are in the "January doldrums" when it goes 3 days without any talk about gardening.
I did start some pepper plants of a variety that is slow to start and needs a long time to fruit. Other than that, I'm waiting for a few weeks to start any other seeds, altho whenever I pass the hall closet where most of my seeds are kept, I think about getting them out and just checking them to make sure I've got everything. ;) Trying real hard NOT to plant anything right now. zone 6 here, if they haven't moved it again, lol. 8 or 10 weeks before frost is about the max, I don't want the tomatoes to take over the basement like they have in previous years.

Smoky,I know what you mean.......

I haven't started anything yet............but I do need to get the room organized and make sure I can set up my lights.

I'm NOT going to start at many as I did last year.

My garden this year is going to be restricted to containers,so I won't have nearly as much space. :(

We had take our fence down late last summer, and with all the activity in my yard now,I don't think a regular garden would be safe from night time prowlers, and the local kids.......containers are my only hope this year.

We came home to find a large opposum in our yard, two nights in a row, along with raccoon tracks, and cat and dog tracks......I miss my fenced yard........

I don't have the urge yet, it is only January, I have been praying for snow, I want to hole up a couple of days in the house, get the ironing done, enjoy the fire, then after the snow has melted I will feel winter has been here and it is time to get antsy about planting. But I got my seed order made out.

Oh, I've made seed orders. Several, lol. $43! What? I can't spend that much...I guess I make about 3 or 4 "seed orders" a year that never get mailed, but I always order something new to try.

I already have my new seeds for this year............but I still keep looking through the catalogs for more.........

I want to order some dwarf blueberries, but haven't had the extra $$ for them........so they might have to wait another year.

I burned off some of that frustration by doing some pruning.

OK, I DID start a few seeds, but only half a dozen or so! It is TOO EARLY to start seeds in zone 5!

Though, I DID hear of starting seeds in baggies and setting them outside. Apparently, they will not start to grow until the weather is right. HHMMmmm......

Maybe later, when I get frustrated again!

I am only ordering from one source, the postage is just too high to order here and there. Pinetree it is this year. they have those light row covers for earlier planting and they have things I use in making skin lotions and potions. Plus their packet prices are lower (and I hear smaller) and they have varieties that are OP, which i want to save for next year. would be nice to have a neighbor to combine orders to save on postage.
Next month I want to take fuchsia cuttings. I am so exited, one of my heliotropes survived. was not sure what kind of habits they have, so just brought it in the studio to keep it from freezing.

4 days and counting....until the first of Feb. I will begin then with some tomatoes. Our last frost here is around April 15th, on average. Most seeds say start 6-8 weeks before setting out, I give them more like 10, that's all of Feb, Mar, and 2 weeks in April.
Today is as good a day as any to get out my seeds and fondle, uh I mean look them over, lol. ;D

I will probably start a few things in a week or two.......onions,celery,maybe some more strawberries..........these all take a long time to get up to transplant size........ ;D ;D

Lobelia needs to be seeded now. those tiny seeds take forever to grow to any size. have not seen any seeds though. Petunias should be started too. but I am going to wait with tomatoes until early march. Maybe i will start a couple so we can have some pretty big plants in pots to set out for early tomatoes.
