I was wondering if anyone uses a computer program to plan their garden or do you prefer paper and pencil sketches, or do you look at the area and make a mental sketch, or do you just plain know where everythings gonna go?

I pretty much know where things are going to go year to year... It's not so hard, i plant as to what we like and use the most of, and rotate my crops from year to year...

I have both...I don't feel the computer program is any better than a pencil and paper. I keep a garden journal. I use it for seed start dates, planting dates, weather conditions, crop rotations, problems with disease and bugs, yields and my first and last frosts. This helps me more than anything. I can take the journal right out to the garden with me.

I prefer pencil and paper. but then I wind up playing it by ear and getting carried away. ;)

I'm with Smoky - I go through more erasers every year than seeds, lol

I spent $5.00 on one of those computer programs for gardening............all it tells me is that my garden space is too small to grow anything.......HA!!!!!!!

I don't really plan much.....other than the tomatoes go on the end oposite the squash so the squash can't take over........

My planters end up being whatever I decide to take a chance and see what grows.........

Here's a small tour for those who haven't seen the pics. yet........
