Has anyone tried the Lucet? Mine is a forked stick, and it is a wond'rous thing: google lucet and make your own from a mere twig about a quarter inch in diameter, with a four-inch handle. It works as well as any of the fancy ones illustrated on the web. I simply rubbed a stick on a rock, to get shape and smoothness.
What you get for your efforts is a length of lucetted cord, which is squared, rather than rounded, as one would get from French Knitting, the crosswork pattern resembles that found on Celtic and Viking carvings. *Uses: end knobs, handles, bracelets, what ever you can think of.

Well mine isn't quite as primitive as yours. Yours is a very neat idea though, and one I would never have thought of.
One thing that I really like off of the lucet is shoestrings. Don't think I will ever buy them from the store again.
