can this happen??

Mom has two rose bushes potted up and in her southern facing window one is a tea rose the other is bigger. About this time last year on the tea rose the old leaves turned yellow and fell off The new green leaves stayed. Mom said that they fell off all at once, she was looking out the window and one branch shrugged and shook and then the other one did. I figured it was just her imagination or maybe a truck going by outside, but the leaves on the other rose didn't do the same. Yesterday she said her tea rose shrugged again and this morning I saw that all the old yellow leaves were gone and just the new green ones were there. She doesn't ever pull my leg, or tell tall tales, so I don't get it. Can plants shrug?

Never seen one move of it's own accord, except for acacias. Perhaps the plant had many leaves ready to fall and barely hanging on to the plant, and some unfelt vibration or her breath caused them to all fall at once and thus the plant's branches moved upward as the weight of the yellowing leaves all dropped off?

I have had plants that would have leaves yellow up and then drop several at one time.
