Is there a way to make fresh milk from goats or cows into powdered milk at home? It seems if this could be done then much could be preserved for later use.

There is not a home process for making powdered milk. You might understand why after reading this information: http://waltonfeed.com/self/milkmade.html
I'd suggest freezing it. There are recipes for canning milk, but there are NO USDA-safe recipes, so use home-canned milk recipes at your own risk.

You might check with your County Extension Office for more information.

As shamrock suggested,try freezing it.
I have heard of some people having good success home canning milk, but I have not tried it.
You could always use your extra milk to make cheese. ;D
