Not sure if this is the right place for this question so please move it if there is a better forum section.
I was looking at various bulk purchase food items that have been canned for long term storage. The cans are described by number size such as #6 or #10.
Can someone point me to a link or post what the capacity of the various size cans is? In particular what is the largest size can used for commercial canning of foods. I have seen 1 gallon size food service cans which I am thinking may be a #10 but it would be helpful to know all the size cans used and their capacity.
I just for clarification, I am referring to the steel cans like those purchased in grocery stores not the mason jars.
I have tried a number of google and other searchs and have not come up with much information.
Thanks!
