Pears Pears Pears

With all the rain/flooding this year here in Oklahoma it seems my two pear trees have gone crazy. Sweetie and I just finished putting up 38 quarts of pears and I've still got 3 bushels left over. Guess we'll make pear butter next but darn I'm tired of peeling pears.

We got three big boxes of pears to put up. Pear butter, spiced pears, pears for pies, may even try mixing pears with figs got those too. Picked a 5 gallon bucket of figs yesterday and nearly that many today, got to get those done in the morning..

So tell me, do you have to peel the figs? That must be hard on the hands.

No thank goodness no peeling figs!! If I have to peel one more thing I may feed it all to the goats. I picked another couple of bushels of pears today! I think we will be living on pears all winter.. LOL

Guess I'm getting old..hehe
