With all the different brands of beer today this whole
market has split into flavors, regionals, and national
brands. It's possible to find just about anything in
beer today from coffee beer to wine flavored beer.

So all that said.......What is the beer you like most
where you live? What is a favored beer you've tasted
when you traveled? Your favorite tasty import beer?

So guys (and gals) let the tasting begin. ;D ;D ;D

(P.S. this thread ain't about getting blind drunk. It's
about the use of beer as comfort beverage with friends and family.
In fact I don't care to hear about getting blind drunk as that ain't
really fun. )

Milwaukee’s Best… I know, I know, a lot will poo poo it, but it is hearty, full bodied, well hopped on top of a great taste and a fine finish, $12.99 to 13.99 a thirty pack. I mean good beer for .43 cents a can! Heaven in a can. *:-*

Three Mexican beers are among the finest I have ever tried. Superior is one. Bohemia is a second. The third is not quite as good, but still excellent: Dos Equis.

My other favorites from the British Isles: Guiness, Killians Red, and Harps.

I've had a Sam Adams Boston Lager that was quite good as well.

I'd like to say that my favorite beer is the one that is free! But seriously there are many fine beers available and darn it if I have to taste them all I will... my new favorite is Leinenkugels Sunset Wheat... squeeze a half slice of orange in the glass and it will be as close to heaven as beer can be! Next would be Point Amber which is a lager and not quite as stiff as say an Octoberfest or Harp or Smithwicks... used to love Special Export Dark as well but I am not sure they make it anymore. If I was to have more then a couple, which is very rare nowadays, I'd probally pick up some Old Style or Old Style light, or Miller and remember that Falstaff used to make a pretty smooth brew as well...

That is a tough question. I buy something new about once a month or so. The latest one I picked up just so happens to be Leinenkugels Sunset Wheat which I have really enjoyed. It has a great taste that can only be compared to blueberry. Being a wheat beer, it of course goes well with summer!

I usually drink Blue Moon or St Pauli's Girl - however my favorite would probably have to be Arrogant Bastard Ale - it's from a brewery in San Diego County, California.

I have a weakness for J.W. Dundees Honey Brown. An Elixer of uncomparable qualities that would drive a French wine-taster insane. 8)

I really like the Gilla Monster from Trader Joe's. But when budgeting we will drink Budweiser.

Personally, I like my own good Homebrew the best.
I make nice, Amber Ale.
I also make a mellow Stout and a good heavy Porter.
I have a designated beer refrigerator in the downstairs
kitchen, with a case & a half of various Brews.

If I'm out to dinner, a Sam Adams Boston Lager is great.
A Bass Ale is just fine, too.
I seldom buy an American standard style beer, unless it's ll they have. Any beer beats no beer.

Deschutes Brewery's Pale Ale is what I always come back too. Gotta support the local buisnesses!

Jen - the Silver Bullet is what I fall back on when I'm not feeling like paying for Blue Moon or Arrogant Bastard Ale........it's a lot cheaper and has a LOT less calories!!!!!

It's odd I don't like beer, and I don't like ginger ale, but if you mix them 50/50 that's my favorite drink.

They call that a Shandy here in North America, using ginger ale, in Ireland I think the mix is lemonade.

lemon soda and beer for a Radler, very refreshing. some think it is a waste of good beer.
ALDI carries Wernesgruener, which is not bad for East German beer, and the price is not out of this world.

No beer in Finland, this stuff is just gross. Lapin Kulta (lappish gold) is popular here but it should be called Lappish Pee by the way it looks and smells lol.

I'm a fan of Mikes Hard Lemonade, Pear Cider (good stuff here), and Bailey's. That's about all.

I stopped at an ice house in Texas once and was a bit dry. I went in and asked the old codger what kind of beer he had and he replyed:

We got cold beer and we got warm beer, what'll you have?

I of course choose Cold Beer

;D

That reminds me of a motorcycle trip a few friends and I took from Las Cruces, New Mexico to Puerto Penasco, Mexico, at the top of the Gulf of California. This was during our college days and money was tight (funny how the more things change them more they stay the same…) and when we got there we found both kinds of beer there as well, cold and warm. Warm beer was selling for about 10 cents a can and cold was about 60 cents a can. Not much of a question on which one we chose – warm of course. Now you might think that was a sacrifice but it turns out that the ocean temperature down there was outright COLD! Submerge the brews in the water for a bit and Ta-Da, cold beer for one sixth the cost. ;)
