My dear mother passed away 3 1/2 years ago. This is my favorite thing she used to make for me when it was my birthday or such. I haven't had it since she died. It will blow your socks off.
Take 1 1/4 lb. of ground ham
3/4 lb. og ground veal
1 egg
1 cup of Frosted Flakes cereal
Moisten with a little milk and form balls that are halfway between the size of a golf ball and a tennis ball.
Put these in a dutch oven or baking dish and pour the following over them after it has been mixed.
1 1/2 cups of brown sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. mustard
Bake these for somewhere between an hour and 1 1/4 hours at 350*. Turn them at halftime and baste. It'll make about 7 balls, but after you eat them, you'll wish you would have doubled it.
