How long can you keep lard?

I have a large plastic container of lard in the refrigerator. It came from a small slaughterhouse with a pig I bought.
Does anyone know how long it will keep? I don't use it often.
I'm sure there is an answer in one of the BH articles, but I can't find it.

It could last a year or longer in the frig. If it begins to change color or taste is the indication to toss.
