View Full Version : does anyone use wood pellets for heat

I do, and I notice that different brands burn/heat differently...as in not as well as others.
My supply store has changed the three times since September and the last batch is the worst.
What brands have you found to be superior?
which are the worst?
This last batch of mine seen like they are not as compressed and sort of smell like pine even tho they say 100 oak and "ash less than 0.5%", seems like more ash and clinkers.

I use a pellet stove to heat.

I have a "small" house 1100 square feet. I just bought it last year, first winter I used oil more or less just because I bought the place in December and had to use it. About 2 months ago we put in a pellet stove link below.

I get my pellets from Home Depot, mostly cause they deliver them to me and there the cheapest around. Plus my hyundai cant haul a few tons of pellets. They are "Pennington" Pellets they have worked great for me.
