To construct the pipeline he will have to cross a lot of private land. Those landowners will receive (if they haven't already) a letter from T. Boone Pickens explaining that he wants to buy some of their land. If they refuse he will simply use the power of eminent domain to take it......

Not how it works in the east, they pay you rent in the 1000's and burry the line.. then you forget it was ever in the ground...and yes, you can still farm over it. why do you people cry over this stuff??? oh wait, maybe it's the jobs he will create...must suck to be a rough neck and make $600 a day, travel the world and only work 20 weeks a year, retire at 40 and you don't need to get 6 years of college to do it...oh and don't those men spend money in midwest towns, providing income for all the rest of the people????

The article was simply pointing out that if he can't buy the land, he will use the power of eminent domain to take it. Which is an invasion of proeprty rights. I wonder how you'd feel if someone decided that was a good idea - to run a cut-through through your property that you COULDN'T farm ever again - maybe through your best pasture, or right through your front yard - and if you wouldn't sell it, that individual would take it anyway, with the government's full consent and support?

I don't think too many rational people thought that Pickens could give a tinker's damn about our country or how much we pay at the pump. *After all, that's the business he is in. *His deal in the link is how big business operates. *Simple as that. *Everything he does is about making money. *The thing that separates him from most of us is that he is very good at it. *He or any one in his position will take all that you own if he decides he wants it. *That privelige is bought and paid for at the state capitols and Washington, DC.
