View Full Version : What`s your wood crib look like?

Cordwood stacking is kind of an interest with me. It`s fascinating and motivating in that I use wood heat for primary heat source. Here`s my effort-

Hope these pictures post correctly. The last ones are of my "funny piles", the small pieces that can`t be stacked well. Got about 2 cords stacked here. My house is well insulated and small, easy to heat.

This is one of my favorite stacking jobs. I'd like to try it some day but I'm not sure I'd take the time or if I have the patience.

Hey trip,
Nice haus! I saw that fallen tree photo on another firewood wood site. That`s kind of involved. I have too many things to do to get ready for winter to take the time. I did make some really impressive stacks in the past. They were more like a labyrinth. One I made was shaped like a yurt.

I yanked that photo from Hearth.com. Very good site for those who burn wood. You can spend hours reading there if you aren't careful.
