I finished pulling the fruits today as frost is now upon us and have maybe 30 or so. They are still green. What is best way to keep them and getting them to turn red? In the past we have just left them on window sill with varying degrees of success. Thanks Rick

They don't need light to ripen....assuming they've reached the jell stage (that means they've matured enough so that slimey stuff surrounds the seed) they'll ripen....make sure they're nice and dry....wrapping with newspaper or what ever will concentrate the ethylene gas making them ripen quicker....I prefer to wrap with waxed paper...them you can see what's going on.

Why not just make fried green tomatoes? or green tomato pie? They both used to be among my favorite treats before I stopped eating tomatoes altogether.
Any way since you picked them already, you probably can't do this. But I will still tell you the best way to get "vine ripened" tomatoes is to pull up the plant and hang the whole plant upside down in a cool (not less than 45*)dry place (such as the garage rafters) the tomatoes that are green will continue to ripen. Second best is to place green tomatoes that have streaks of red or yellow appearing upside down (stem side down) on a south facing windowsill. The ones that are totally green will not ripen this way but if they have started to ripen they might.
