View Full Version : Bulk food containers
Years ago, I found a small business that sold round food containers that held bulk food items. They had different sizes like one would hold 25 pounds of rice, or cat food, or beans or flour. They were not see thru but you could tell what was in them. They stacked on top of each other. I can't seem to remember the name of their business, or how to get a hold of them. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and how to get a hold of them. I think they had a website and free brochure/catalog. The lids screwed on. They offered different kits too. Please help!!! ???

Welcome to the Forum, Tess.
Have you tried Google searches using various combinations of keywords like
commercial bulk food containers round stackable
A quick search turned up one place that offers 40 quart commercial containers, but they're $25 each. I have to believe you can find them cheaper than that.
Also, have you tried asking some restaurants in your area if they'd save their five gallon plastic pails instead of tossing them out?

Hi Tess,
I got mine from the local retail food coop. They work very well and I think I paid about 50 cents each. I will admit that the ones that contained molasses, although cleaned thoroughly, I found unusable because of the strong odor.

I've googled and found plenty, but I want specifically the ones I found with the company whose name I can't remember. I first read the ad in an old Countryside magazine. I think. Or some magazine like it. They were fairly inexpensive. I am hoping someone has seen the ad. I want to say that the web address has the word bulk in it but that is all I can remember... And they were sold by a small family company. I don't think they made them though, so I'm hoping if I can't find them, I can find their supplier instead. If I could see a picture of their containers, I would recognize them.
by the way, the local pizza place sells buckets with lids for $1.50 that once held pickles. I can't get the smell to come out of my pickle jars, so I can't imagine that I'd get the plastic buckets to come clean of the smell either, but I don't want plastic buckets. Bugs can still get inside... Unless I got gamma lids, but don't want to go that route if I don't have to.
