Found a little money the other day that I had put away and forgotten about! Yeah!
Went to the store this morning for dog food and to pick up a few things for myself.
They had a deal where if you bought an 8 oz. pack of sliced Kraft cheese you got a 7-9 oz. pack of deli-sliced meat for free. Since I like sandwiches and had been looking for something different I bought the cheese in Mozzarella and Swiss and got a pack of smoked ham and one of oven roasted turkey. I spent just over $5 and since I will be able to make at least 5-6 sandwiches from each pack of meat and each pack of cheese they will average about $2 for each. I'll have enough cheese, of both kinds, left so that I can add it to an omelette or the like.
Another good buy was two 32 oz. bottles of CoffeeMate, Peppermint Mocha & Pumpkin Spice, for $1.49 each. I don't ordinarily but these but since I was sorta splurging, and they had been close to $3 each originally, I felt I could afford them and that was when I thought they were $1.79 each. Having them ring up at an even lower price was a bonus.
My one purchase, to me, that I could have done without was 8 bakery items. I got 4 empanadas, 1 long john, and 3 pan dulce (Mexican sweet breads) that aren't all that sweet which is why I bought these, all were 50cents each, instead of the chocolate candy I had originally intended to buy! Not only that, I won't eat all of these in one day, I'll be more likely to parcel them out to one a day or even every other day.
