Hi all,
question about rain water collection systems. Yestureday when it was pouring outside I saw that
there would be a good place to collect rain water off the roof of the house. My question is what is the best
system to use. Our house is a L shaped ranch meaning the garage sticks out about 12-15 ft on one end. I saw that where the garage and the rest of the house meet
there was a big stream of water running of the roof onto the rock garden. We have no rain gutters but I
was thinking maybe I could rig something up to catch the water or just set a big barrel there since it was coming of so well right there. WHat kind of barrel works best I want to use the water for the garden.
Will the rain from the roof have contaminates due to the shingles on the roof. Any info will be great. I know I saw a article about it in one of the Magazines I get
just not sure wwhich one. I will have to go digging.

We have discussed this so you might find something posted on this forum. It might be here on under building/tools.

What will help is something to divert the water from the roof into a collector. "Rain Barrel"

Lots of rain barrels can be found on Craigs list from FREE to $10 or more.
