I am having a well put in near the top of the fairly large hill on my land in Floyd Va. Q1. Is there generally a better spot on the hill for the well or is it pretty much always the higher the better? and Q2. I just heard about the intriguing sounding airlift technologies concept. Does anyone know about them or have one or know of one in operation? www.airliftech.com for the uninformed and curious. I am not sure I understand the concept other than thinking of how your hand gets wet if you hold it over a just poured glass of soda. Thanks for any help. bgoeps

I am not sure if I understand your question?

I am pretty sure the technology is not really new, this well system is not unlike the old pumps of the day that forced water down the well into a foot valve that operated under the venturi principal (think carburetor). All this windmill does is compress air to pump water out of the well instead of water.

Its neither bad nor good, just one way to move water uphill.

As for the placement of the well, where I live you put a well as far down a hill as you can because the higher the elevation the deeper the well has to be, and more expense to drill it. I am wondering if you are putting the well up high so that water runs down and powers a mini-turbine?? Your question was pretty cloudy on what you were trying to accomplish.
