Been googling various ways in an attempt to locate an economical prefab metal chimney kit, for a wood burning stove. Found lots of expensive stuff, and most of those are incomplete kits or for gas venting/range hoods!
I'd prefer to have a 'thru the wall' chimney as opposed to going thru a roof, I'm trying to reduce the remotest chance of sealing problems and leaks. I have successfully installed one roof/ceiling chimney before, but I'd like to go the other route this time.
If anyone has any free time & wants to help in my search... I'd appreciate it.
I may resort to building a freestanding, offset chimney using metal sewer pipe. If anyone has any ideas along these lines...
Thanks
Lex

I have my woodstove going out through the wall of our LRD (Luxury Re-locatable-Dwelling) and it has a double walled fixture called a wall thimble. They are pricy, but provide a very safe method to go through the wall.
Here is an example from:

Maybe check out TSC they usually have a pretty big selection of things like that.

I did mine the same way tufhelp did, as i had a house burn down when i was young, and it was very devastating to me and my family.
I'm too old to start over, because i was too cheap to do it right in the first place and had a fire... Buy the proper stainless pipe, and install it properly...
The good stuff has a lifetime guarentee, and mine still looks like new after several years of use. You only have to buy it once!

Yup, I've googled & dogpiled. I've hit TSC, Sutherlands, Lowes & Bloedorn websites.
I realize I wasn't very clear this morning and for that I apologise. What I was actually looking for was the cheapest supplier.
I've found a thru the ceiling (103 HT) chimney here in Laramie for $250, I think I should be able to find it cheaper, however this one is a complete kit...
I'd still prefer a thru the wall installation.

I bought everything i needed to put my wood stove in at Menards.. The stainless pipe was made in Canada..

You could also try your local HVAC supplier, they sometimes have this stuff that they need to clear out because now we're coming into summer.

Thanks msta
Thats the one I want. I usually forget about ebay, even though I recently used it and craigslist while searching for the woodstove.
Craigslist was simply unbelievable! People seriously expected to get 'antique' prices for old broken 'junk'! One 'stove' consisted of three sidewalls... no top, no bottom, no door or grate... Some of them were even used as lawn ornaments & planters!
I'll have the hussy I married cast a bid on the beast, she has an ebay account & I don't.
Thanks again.

Still chuckling... someone (probably this thread) beat me to it!
Oh well, I'll get the next one offered. That'll teach me to get an eBay account of my own!
lol

Got home & discovered that my wife had tracked another one down, same eBay source, and ordered it for me. Bless her heart!
This is good, 'cause my Cheyenne connection, WITH contractor discount cannot get it for under $300!
