I am wondering if any of you have any experience in the production and storage of wood gas. With FEMA now recommending this as a back up fuel, I would like to set up one of our genny's to run on it.

Thanks

I don't have a lot of experience, but I have read up a bit on it.

Last time I checked, storage was problemmatic. The consensus was to use it as you made it, but that may have changed.

Also known as "producer gas".

Lots of info by googling. Another term would be "wood gassification"

I don't have this particular book, but many of the books Lindsay offers are very practical and how-to oriented. Their book on producer gas sounds interesting. $10 @ www.linsaybks.com. Called "Convert Wood into Charcoal & Electricity". They also have one called "Gas-Engines and Producer-Gas Plants".
