We bought our house in '06 and it has a wood stove in the living room (only source of heat for the L/R).I have no prior experience with stoves or fireplaces so I am at a lose..From what I can find out, it's a "Resolute II Model#0042.The griddle sits flush with the top and it has the "shaker grates".
It also has 4 "grates" that interlock together two sides and the back and front,(guess the front is to keep wood from falling out) it sits just above the shaker grates.Well, when I was cleaning out the inside of the box they came apart (made cleaning a bit easier)but when I put them back together the door hits the bottom edge of the front grate and won't close.I tried for hours, taking them out and putting them back in,etc, etc, etc. The door still won't close. Also inside the box just above the right side grate there is what I think is a baffle that came out and that won't stay in place without the grates.
I've called a fireplace co. but they only do sales now,I'm afraid to call anyone else for fear that they might tell me it's shot just to sell me a new stove.
Did I really screw this thing up or can I just take out the 4 grates and the baffle and use it as is?
Any advise would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,Phil
