This is a company in Hawaii that has installed a large pipe deep into the Pacific where the water is always cold. They pump up the cold water and use it to generate electricity(and to cool off their bldgs), plus they desalinate some and sell it as bottled water and also use the cold water to raise Nori, abalone, lobsters, etc. even steelhead trout.

The thing I find intriguing about this is that they have found multiple uses for the cold water they bring up.

I used to drive by there every day, but I still haven't gone on the tour.
