Boy you sure surprised me there exodus. this is not limited to any religious view. Notice the stuff 333 posted about all kinds of religions.
Mods are not moderating your believes, we are to keep an eye out for foul language and hostility. So, atheist, catholic, pagan, etc etc. this is the place.

that is certainly good news for I always like to share my faith. Although sandwiched between atheists and pagans may mean I have my work cut out for me.

I am a born-again Roman Catholic as opposed to the Greek Catholic and the Russian Catholic. There has been a great and tremendous born-again movement in the Roman Catholic Church since the 70's. This has sent ripples through many of the Churches.

Now our beloved Pope has allowed the Latin Mass to be said again so that this Mass can serve those people so inclined. There is also a great movement from Rome to reign in the more "progressive" parishes in California which will be heartly cheered by many of us

In any case, I digress. If there are other RC's here, just pipe right up.

I am a homesteader on a few acres just trying to feel my way in a more self-reliant fashion and living my faith.

excuse my dumb question, I have never heard 'born again' in connection with Catholics. Can you elaborate a bit on that?

Yes certainly, With the Vat.II, there was a great renewal in our parishes and schools. As with the children of the 60's changed the secular world, they came back into our parishes and schools. The Mass was now said in English. To many this was a great improvement since public schools rarely taught Latin any longer, or Roman Catholic schools either. There were many who mourned the Latin passing since it was the familiar, the cherished ritual. In any case, there was now hymn singing and some of the more modern "spiritual" songs including guitar now. It was heady times. With this renewal came a renewal in Bible reading. The Book of Acts in particular and The Books by John, the beloved , were much discussed, read. From this many of us "renewed" our Church vows we took when first we took our First Communion and Confirmation to follow the Trinity.

The Roman Catholic Church , I fear is much misunderstood. It is a very spiritual Church, with a great deal of mystery. It is not difficult for us to believe in the Holy Spirit as a "living embodiment" of God and as such, it is but a small step to "speaking in tongues", as an example. I have been to prayer meetings where this occurs regularly. It is a good thing. The Rosary speaks of the total faith. And no we do not pray TO Mary but through Mary.

I am but a layman and certainly don't speak for the Church but I know what I feel, what God speaks to me.

I hope I have made it somewhat clear for you. also hope I have not offended
fellow Romans with my bungling explanations.
