Some post fit on my screen but some of them I have to shift back and forth to read them.
Am I doing something wrong or is there something I am doing wrong, LOL.
Even some time when I start a post I have to shift back and fourth to type it.
Can someone tell me of I am doing something wrong or is it just the site???
Thanks
Dennis

Naw, I've seen the same thing too. It usually means someone has a link that is longer than the screen width. This happened the last day or two when checking the 50 most recent posts. Took a day or two for the post with the links to age off the screen.
If you post really long links, the URL tags let you hide the link and diplay text that serves as a link, like this:
The width of the board? ? ? > (http://www.backwoodshome.com/forum/yabb/forum.pl?board=gen-general;action=display;num=1228365291;start=0#0)

If you can, increase your screen resolution.
Been too long since I have use windows { Ubuntu user }.
Maybe another member can post the directions for you.

right click on the desktop, select properties, then the tab on the end, use the slider to select resolution

If I had the tools and the materials I could finish building an airplane I started years ago. I have a saw mill dang near finished. I can build a house from the ground to the cap on the roof.
There is many many things I could do if I just had the tools and materails.
I have a computor, but I can't make it do anywhere close to what "it" can do. I am a computor dummy.
I know what right click means but where in the devil is desktop at???
And something else is why does some/most of the threads come up where they fit and then some are so long it looks like a whole world in just one line?
There are just some threads that seem like they are 3 times as wide as my screen is but most of them I can center it and just go down the page to read them.
Can you take an individual thread and make it come back to a rerasonable size to read? I am sure you can, but as I said, I am a computor dummy.
Thanks for any help.
Dennis.

At the top of this page there is a bar with: One forum: 3 Layouts. Your Choice.
Pick a different one and that should help!

When I had a problem with the width of one of the threads on a board I contacted Oliver about it. He let me know it had something to do with the pictures displayed and was able to fix it for me as that was the only place I was having problems.

Yay a fellow Linux user, I'm using Ubuntu also 8.10 right now.
This problem could be fixed if the board would resize any posted pictures, and wrap text. Most other boards I have seen do this, it's sort of expected.
If the version listed at the bottom is correct, maybe it's time to upgrade to the newest version?
The newest version is 2.3, Yabb gold 1 SP 1.4 was released way back in 2004. I don't really see much of a reason not to upgrade, it's free.

Ditto here on intermintant widening of the posts... So wide that it is a real PIA to read. The only fix I have found is to go out and come back in later....

Many of the Unix installs will allow repartitioning the hard drive on the fly, so it can be installed on a system currently running windows.
But be advised that you dial-up users may need a new modem. Most of the modems included with computers nowadays are cheap win modems. The OS does a lot of the work associated with the modem. The good news is that fast modems are relatively cheap nowadays.

Indeed, my laptop has a win modem. Lucky for me the folks at Linuxant make Linux drivers for them, they want $20 for them. Again lucky that dell sells laptops with Ubuntu so they have the drivers for free on the dell site.
So anyone with a dell laptop with a Conexant modem that wants to switch to Ubuntu, you can get the drivers for free off the dell website.

Sissy,
The problem in that thread appears to be long URLs. Some browsers do not respect the TABLE width and extend it off the right side of the screen rather than wrapping the link.
I use Firefox, which does respect the tables, and is more secure than Internet Explorer.
I converted the long links in that thread to TinyURLs. Please try it again and see if that made a difference for you.
