I had to laugh today. As I filled up my gas can to fill my lawn mower, I commented to a woman next to me at the pumps that was doing the same thing. I joked "time to get some sheep huh?"
In a nut shell she agreed, saying that in order to mow her four acre lawn she went from a 42 inch riding lawn mower to a 48 inch mower, and swapped in her Ford 150 that got 13 mpg so that her new Hummer that got 15 mpg.
You go girl. You go...I was thinking to myself. You are going to get some serious savings from those two moves. :;
I know there are other issues at work here, but come on. She really thought she was doing something when it was a drop in the ocean. I am no better in many ways, as I mow a lawn myself, and I still burn propane to heat my house, but I have got a lot smaller car, and my house is super well insulated. But as I said, some people just don't get it.
