http://youtube.com/watch?v=zBsG32n_8oc watch all these videos then lets talk. I will be building one of these this summer soon as I can find a book on the subject! I'm planning on a ton truck with a ford 460 engine. Flat bed that will hold the gasifier and plenty of wood. It's hard to think there was 1 million of these trucks in ww2!

I've looked at gasification off and on over the years.

There are plenty of resources on the web.

For a source of books, see here: http://www.lindsaybks.com/

germany was heavy into it in the waning years of ww2 - they even used coal gasification of i/c engines -

In my other life as a video producer/director my shop produced several videos for a local entrepreneur who was hawking a gasification system he cobbled together in prototype. It was fairly large the concentrating vessels were easily 4 feet in diameter and 16 feet tall, there were 4 chambers and the end pf the line was a generator running off of the resulting gasification process. Sure looked good on paper, gasified just about anything (old tires, manure, wood waste, vegetable waste etc.), little to no pollution, output of gas to power “conventional” internal combustion engine, resulting ash was being made into building blocks. All seemed great – BUT – He never in about 8 years of effort attracted investors or sold a system… So there is something I’m not seeing or understanding about the process as I said impressive at first blush.
