Further proof of the world going to hell. Gas has not stopped, and does not seem to be stopping its climb. Goodbye every freaking penny all of us has ever worked for.

I agree,
cheapest gas around here is 3.29! Every body went and filled up @ that price because a few stations in "the big city" hit 3.49! It costs me 100.00 to fill my tank,(hasn't seen that much gas in months!!)I really try to make my trips to town count. I make my teen-ager walk to work after track practice, and if any body needs any thing they wait until I have to go.By the way, aren't oil companys making record profits?? >:(
Plus our Gov. has taxed our gas so much she can't really get away w/it again. Now she's after our sales tax and trying to put taxes on things that we never had tax on before!
I swear I'm buyin' a horse and movin' so far into the North woods they'll never find me! ;)

gas is 2.82 here. i know some people hate it but businesses are in business to make a profit or else there is no point in that activity.

We're at $3.29 here too. Every April Fools Day our Wisconsin gas tax increases by law. (Appropriate day, too!)
I had an email that asked everyone to boycott gas stations tomorrow (May 15) to make the point that the very HIGH profits that the gas companies are sucking out of us are not acceptable. If everyone skipped a day it would make a gas glut (that also would only last a day) but that could at least make the price come down for a little while.
The government lets it go because they make so much money - more, even, than the gas companies do. :P

yeah the government is very good at that. they have their hands in oil companies pockets & tax the hell out of them, then they give us one of the only prices for a product that isnt a pre-taxed price. they roll it all up into one nice & neat bundle. its about as bad with withholding income tax.
i know alot of people hate oil companies because they make huge profits when compared to most other companies. at the same time the oil companies prolly have to jump through more hurdles in order to provide us with our livelyhood than other companies. just think about the fact that people in iran are bitching cause of the high cost of gas.
the american auto industry is hurtin right now. they been beat to hell with benifits for the unions & other concessions. maybe it would be a great idea to beat the hell outta the oil companies & then maybe they will just decide to give up & quit. wonder how many of you have oil stock in your retirement portfolio.
hell one of the big reasons for higher costs in fuel is cause of all the different formulations that different states require. the recent rise in fuel costs are due to refining limitations cause we havent built any new refineries in the past 30 years & have actually gone from over 300 in the 70's to about a 165 today. environmentalists win that battle & we cant have oil drilling, nuclear or even windfarms. yet at the same time the rest of their liberal friends demand energy indepence.
this isnt a political discussion for me either. its our national security. right & wrong. we need to make some better choices & get rid of silly things like ethanol. the market will dictate what technology brings us & at what cost. i think things like hybrid cars are a good idea but still too expensive to justify they purchase for many people. most of the people that by them today are doing it because environmentalism is a religion today. i hope they all feel good about their purchase but they havent really done a damn thing to help anything yet. the scary thing is without being self sufficient for energy our nation is literally at the mercy of countries that are openly for our demise.

WHATS UP W/THAT????
Is any one paying more? Diesel is about a dollar cheaper a gal.
Knew I should of traded for one, didn't want payments tho. :-[
Peace,
Intelligent design? I found a receipt while working on my antique1966 Ford Mustang from 1997, the last time it was drivable, I remember the day cause I had a hot date to the drive in and filled up for the evening cruise. I could get 15 20 miles per gallon out of that straight six engine, gas was 1.25 a gallon. super unleaded.
So now its 3.25 -3.50 and cars get 25- 40 miles per gallon whats the real difference? The little guy will never be allowed to get ahead for long, as soon as he is granted a reprieve by technology, the greedy oil barons/ goobers balance it out with higher prices. Intelligent Design?
Oh and as a side note the gas I drained from the tank that was 10 years old was so good, my truck almost puked from overdose of high grade gas, the quality of gas today is garbage in comparison.

Angie - I bought my diesel Silverado 2500 Crew Cab in 1995 when diesel was cheaper than gas. Not long after I bought it, diesel soon surged higher than gasoline and has stayed there until 2 months ago. Now, gasoline is 50 cents and more higher than gas.
So, do me a favor and DO NOT purchase a diesel vehicle because you will probably personally cause the price of diesel to skyrocket. ;) Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation.

Prices around here seem to have leveled off for a little. I got a VW jetta so fuel is not too bad yet about $40 to fill the tank and that works out to about 10 cents a mile for fuel. About $2.50 a day for driving to work, about $60 round trip to PA for weekend trips. Only thing that really annoys me is that most the gas stations around here have 10% ethanol which gives poorer gas mileage makes the fuel cost more and increases the use of fossil fuel, but somehow is good for us. My first car was a 91 diesel jetta I loved that car got 45 mpg and when I got it in 1999 diesel was only 89 cents a gallon 550 miles on $10. that summer my friends and I want anywhere we wanted including at trip to Pittsburgh after a trip to Philly, all with the change we had in our pockets. I just got the old girl out last weekend thinking of selling her but now I see diesel here is cheaper then gas too so maybe I should fix her up and get her back on the road
